Colossians 1:16:

NASB: “For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things have been created through Him and for Him.”

ESV: “For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible… all things were created through him and for him.”

The powerful truth

All things were created through Christ—and all things were created for Christ.

That means Jesus is not merely part of creation’s purpose. He is its purpose.

• Created by Him — He is the Creator.
• Created through Him — He is the divine agent of creation.
• Created for Him — He is the goal, purpose, and rightful Lord of creation.
• All things — Paul deliberately includes “all things,” both visible and invisible.

This connects beautifully with Romans 11:36:

“For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things. To Him be the glory forever. Amen.”

And Revelation 4:11:

“Worthy are You, our Lord and our God, to receive glory and honor and power; for You created all things, and because of Your will they existed, and were created.”

Everything came from Him, exists through Him, and ultimately belongs to Him.
